This art show is opening in conjunction with the opening (on September 20) of the new Eli and Edith Broad Theatre at Santa Monica College’s Madison Performing Arts Center. 49 Santa Monica artists are featured, including John Baldessari, Barbara Drucker, Don Bachardy, Frank Gehry, Bruria Finkel, Arlene Hendler, and many others, all of whom either live or work locally. More events at the Performing Arts Center will be announced soon.
Treesavers to Hold SM City Council Candidates’ Forum
The candidates’ forum, “On Our Urban Forest and Tree-Related Issues,” will be held Thursday, August 14, from 6:30 to 9 p.m. at the Ken Edwards Center, 1527 Fourth Street. Former Santa Monica Council member Michael Feinstein is set to moderate.
