Brentwood Wins, Awaits Homecoming:

It will be Homecoming at Brentwood School Saturday afternoon when the Eagles play football against Campbell-Hall at 2:15.

The Alpha League opener will follow the non-league portion of the schedule in which Brentwood compiled a 4-1 record.

On Friday, October 10 Brentwood traveled to Salesian and emerged with a 9-6 victory in a game where both teams were error prone.

“It was sloppy and hard to get into a rhythm,” said Brentwood coach Patrick Brown. “We couldn’t get anything going.”

Brentwood scored the game’s first nine points, as quarterback Josh Amster had a 12-yard touchdown run, Charlie James kicked the extra point, and the Eagles had a safety. Salesian then scored its only touchdown but failed on the conversion attempt.

In the third quarter Brentwood fumbled the ball away three times. However, Brentwood lost only to St. Bernard in the first half of the season.

Brown praised James for his outstanding play on defense.  Asked how the league shapes up, Brown said Maranatha is the likely favorite.
