A Day Without A Bag:

Heal the Bay will sponsor the second annual “A Day Without a Bag” on Thursday, December 18 in order to encourage both businesses and individuals throughout Los Angeles County to use reusable bags rather than single-use, plastic shopping bags.

Matthew King, Heal the Bay’s Communications Director, told the Mirror, “more than 50 sites throughout Los Angeles county will be giving out thousands of reusable bags this year which is quadruple the number that participated last year.”

All branches of the Santa Monica library system will be giving out re-usable totes at no charge to patrons who check out a minimum of three items with their library card.  A free bag can also be picked up between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. on the Third Street Promenade by the Broadway Deli.

To find additional locations that will be giving out bags at no charge and other information please go to the following website, healthebay.org/NoBagDay.
