Former Samohi Star Honored:

UCLA senior Cody Decker from Santa Monica High has been named Pac-10 Conference Player Of The Week for the second time in his career.

Decker hit four home runs in four games, batted .333 and had 10 RBI in the stretch. He also walked twice, continuing a season-long trend of being more patient at the plate than last season when his batting average fell and he wasn’t selected in the baseball draft.

Decker, one of the all-time best power hitters in Samohi history, is the Bruins’ Designated Hitter this season. He is UCLA’s career leader in home runs (32), hits (131), RBI (117), runs (74) and at-bats (482).
