Beginnings of the Annual Gumball 3000 Rally:

U.N.I., named ‘Best Breakout LA Artist’ at the 2008 MTV Video Music Awards, played at a Gumball 3000 free concert at the 3rd Street Promenade on Friday night, May 1. The concert coincided with the start of the 11th Annual Gumball 3000 Rally – _”Coast to Coast” Los Angeles to Miami, May 1-8. The event included a Supercar Display on Friday at the Santa Monica Pier, free concert at the 3rd Street Promenade, and the official start of the rally on Saturday morning.
