Six Samohi Baseball Players Make All-League:

Four Santa Monica High baseball players have been chosen first team all-Ocean League and two others made the second team.

The list does not include star pitcher Tyler Skaggs, who didn’t play against most league opponents due to a sprained ankle.

Walker Dove, Samohi’s second baseman, not only was voted to the first team but led the Ocean League in batting with a .706 average in league games.

The other first team choices were shortstop Ricky Gomez, catcher Colter Johnson and relief pitcher Drew Hammond.

Outfielders Logan Whitchurch, who also pitched, and Vince Lawrence were on the second team.

Pitcher/outfielder Erik Munzer of first place Beverly Hills was named the league’s MVP.
