Pali Blues Win Championship Again:

The Pali Blues professional team repeated as champions of the United Soccer Womens’ League with a 2-1 victory over the Washington Freedom on August 5.

The Blues came into existence last season and have posted two undefeated seasons. The team plays home games at Palisades High.

Iris Mora had an assist, then scored the winning goal and was named MVP of the championship game.”It’s a fantastic feeling,” said Coach Charlie Naimo.

Santa Monica Goes Car Free this Friday: First #CarFreeFriday kicks off with car free pledges and students going big with weeklong bike and walk to school activities

This Friday, the City of Santa Monica challenges residents, employees, visitors, and students to go car free for one day. Hundreds have pledged to go car free, including students at McKinley Elementary School who will be celebrating with a “walking” school bus, bike trains, and free rides on the Big Blue Bus. The #CarFreeFriday challenge is part of the City’s GoSaMo initiative to get more people trying Santa Monica’s complete transportation network of rail, bus, bike share, and walking.
