City Council Holds Special Meeting Behind Closed Doors:

A special meeting of the Santa Monica City Council was held at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, October 6, in Council Chambers. The meeting was held for the purpose of public employee evaluations for the City Attorney and City Clerk.

One agenda item was heard before the closed session, a request of Councilmember McKeown to authorize the Mayor or City Manager to write a letter to the California Marine Life Protection Act Initiative Blue Ribbon Task Force in support of the environmentally oriented proposal known as “Map 3,” establishing Marine Protection Areas along the Southern California coast. That item was passed on a 4-2 vote. 

The next regular meeting will be held on October 13 at 5:45pm.
