Shooting in Santa Monica Off 7th and Marine:

On September 30, 2009 at 6:10 P.M., Officers responded to the area of 7th and Marine Street regarding a radio call of “shots fired.” Upon arrival officers located two individuals who had been struck by a bullet in their lower leg area. The victims, an M/L18 and an M/L 70’s were transported to a local hospital for their non-life threatening injuries.

Further investigation revealed that two suspects fled from the scene in a white truck. Officers located the truck as it traveled northbound on 4th Street onto eastbound I-10 freeway. As officers attempted to stop the vehicle, the driver failed to yield. Officers initiated a pursuit as they entered the freeway. The pursuit ended in the area of the I-10 and Centinela off-ramp when the suspects exited the vehicle and jumped down the embankment.

A perimeter was established in the area of Bundy Drive, Centinela Ave, Pearl Street and the I-10 freeway.

Officers conducted a search within the perimeter and located the two suspects. The suspects M/L/17 and M/L/19 were arrested and booked for attempted homicide.
