Shady Character
Wednesday, November 25, 1:46 p.m. Officers heard about a fight that was occurring in the Ocean View Store, located on the 1600 block of Ocean Front walk, and so sped there to investigate. Upon arrival, the officers spoke with the victim, in this instance the cashier at the store, who said that this all began when the suspect approached a sunglasses display at the front of the store. The suspect then removed a pair of sunglasses, placed them on top of her head, and began to leave the store without paying for them. The cashier enquired with the suspect as to her intentions. The suspect must have taken great offence to this, because her reaction was to punch the cashier with a closed fist, in the face! The cashier and suspect then became engaged in the spectacle of a struggle, over these sunglasses. The officers had separated them upon arrival, and subsequently arrested the suspect (a black female, aged 45) for robbery, and violation of parole. She was not eligible for bail.
Returned To The Scene Of The Crime
Friday, November 27, 6:20 p.m. Officers were called to a domestic dispute in the 600 block of Georgina in regard to a domestic dispute. When they arrived there the victim (woman) informed them that she and her husband had been having an argument, when the husband landed one on his wife and left the scene. As the police were investigating this incident, the husband returned to the scene, whereupon the officers arrested this 54-year-old male, of “other” ethnicity, for spousal battery. Bail: $20,000.00
Rock ‘n Roll
Friday, November 21, 9:03 p.m. This story has its origin on Saturday, November 21, when officers went to the parking lot of Von’s, located at 7th and Broadway because they had heard of some trouble there. What had happened on that day was that a guy had entered the store and removed a bottle of booze without paying for it. The manager, and a security guard had confronted this brazen booze bandit outside the store, at which point the guy gave the booze back to them. All’s well that ends well, one might assume, but no, this guy threw a large rock that hit the security guard in the back of the head, and then the guy rolled. On Friday, November 27, this guy like the person in the previous story, returned to the scene of the crime, whereupon an officer, who had seen CCTV footage of this guy from the previous occasion, recognized him and arrested this 25 year old white male for assault with a deadly weapon, and warrants. Bail: $33,049.00
