Palisades Teams Get Off to Fast Starts:

The Palisades High boys and girls basketball teams have had an encouraging start to their seasons.

Coach James Paleno’s boys have a 5-2 record, and Coach Torino Johnson’s girls are 4-1.

The boys finished fifth in the Pacific Shores Tournament. They have wins over Cathedral, Santa Monica, Harvard-Westlake, Cleveland and Kennedy and losses to Long Beach Poly and Verdugo Hills.

Garret Nevels is averaging 19 points per game and Donovan Johnson 12.

The Palisades girls have lost only to Carson. Three seniors are averaging 12 points per game – Nicole Flyer, Donae Moguel and Ashlie Bruner.
