For the first time ever, the Los Angeles Marathon will not only be running through Santa Monica but will end here, with a finish line party at the Santa Monica Pier. Along the course, groups will be gathering to cheer on the runners and entertainment of all kinds will be featured at every quarter mile. Don’t watch this on TV–be there!

Tree Hugging Day II • March 20, noon, free

It’s spring. It’s the Vernal Equinox. It’s time to thank the trees for just being there. This event, the second of its kind, will feature a group tree-hugging followed by a march to the historic Moreton Bay Fig Tree at the Fairmont Miramar for a really big group hug.
