Considering Advance Directives on “Nat. Healthcare Decisions Day”:

Friday, April 16 is “National Healthcare Decisions Day” and the Center for Humane and Ethical Care at Santa Monica-UCLA Medical Center and Orthopaedic Hospital is joining national, state and community organizations in highlighting the importance of advance healthcare decision-making.

From 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., CHEC will staff an informational table in the hospital’s main lobby, 1225 15th St. in Santa Monica, to provide FREE information and tools to encourage residents to discuss their wishes with family members, friends and healthcare providers and to consider completing advance healthcare directives in accordance with state laws.

The center also will provide actual advance directive forms, as well as information on POLST – Physician Orders for Life-Sustaining Treatment.

For more information, visit the CHEC website, www.chec.ucla.edu, or call (310) 319-4189.
