Miller Shapes Up as Crossroads Ace:

When the baseball season began, Max Robinson and Josh Flyer were expected to head the Crossroads pitching staff.

Both were injured and made gradual comebacks, and in the meantime Holden Miller started the most games.

Following a victory over Windward, Miller has improved his record to 8-3.

From a fill in starter Miller is now receiving attention from college scouts.

Crossroads started the season fast, slumped but regrouped for a strong finish. With two-game sweeps of Kilpatrick and Windward, Crossroads is 6-0 in the Delphic League, 14-7 overall and heading for the CIF playoffs.

Co-coach Pat Armstrong is pleased with the pitching. Commenting after the Roadrunners required only 68 pitches in a recent victory, he said “That’s what it’s all about.”

Miller pitched one win against Windward and Josh Flyer the other. That 3-2 victory occurred when Andres Leyva reached first, advanced with his speed and scored on a hit by Brian Rosen.
