Samohi Boys Basketball Fall Short At Inglewood: Samohi Boys Basketball Lose to Inglewood

Despite 31 points from sophomore guard Jordan Matthews, Santa Monica boys basketball lost to Inglewood 54-47 Wednesday night in the Ocean League opener for both teams.

The Vikings were down 31-14 at halftime but rallied in the fourth quarter and brought it to within four points, 49-45, with under three minutes left to play. Samohi wouldn’t get closer than that, however, as Inglewood hit free throws that put the game out of reach.

With the loss, the Vikings are 0-1 in Ocean League as they prepare to host Culver City at home Friday night.
