Brit Businesses to Host Royal Celebrations: Local Spots to Celebrate British Wedding

Those not lucky enough to receive a formal invitation to this week’s royal wedding can still celebrate in high style from across the pond at one of Santa Monica’s British establishments. Though Will and Kate officially took their vows this morning at 3 a.m. Eastern Standard Time, coverage and replay of the affair will be airing all weekend. The following businesses are offering special events in honor of the newlyweds.

The Tudor House

A special lunch and all day big screen viewing of the wedding will take place Friday through Sunday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. for $21.95. Special menu items include champagne, avocado stuffed with baby shrimp, finger sandwiches, assorted canapés, princess profiteroles and Prince of Wales tea or coffee. The regular menu and reservations are available.

Ye Olde King’s Head

A complimentary champagne toast is available Friday and Saturday starting at 9 a.m. with the purchase of the King Size Breakfast, which includes choice of fried bread or toast, two eggs, bacon, one banger, sautéed mushrooms, English baked beans, grilled tomatoes, and breakfast potatoes for $12.95. Royal tea will be served at noon and 2 p.m. on Friday and Saturday for $18.95, and a Beatles tribute band will play at 8 p.m. on Friday. The wedding will be continuously played throughout the weekend.

Starting at 10 a.m. on Friday the wedding will continue to be shown throughout the day. A special Royal English Breakfast complete with champagne will be served.
