St. Monica hosted the first annual Westside Summer Slam, bringing in 11 teams for a summer basketball tournament.
The tournament features six (including St. Monica) playoff teams from a year ago, including two teams who were in the LA City Tournament Championship games in their respective divisions.
St. Monica head coach Khi-Min Jung said playing quality competition will prepare the Mariners for the upcoming basketball season.
The tournament finishes on Sunday night.
