Whale Tail Grant Program Shows New License Plate at Santa Monica Pier:

Assemblywoman Julia Brownley speaks about coastal conservation during the unveiling of the newly designed Whale Tail License Plate for California

California’s Whale Tail program has been giving back to the beaches since 1997. Every Whale Tail license plate purchased gives money for beach cleanup, trash valets, cleaner water, etc.

The program has been successful in Santa Monica as the city has received its first A rating on the Heal the Bay grade scale.

On Tuesday morning, the California Coastal Commission and the DMV showed the new Whale Tail license plate that is now available for purchase.

For a limited time, the new plate will be sold at a discounted price. The plates are available at ecoplates.com.
