Skirball Bridge To Stay Open Thursday Night, But Will Close Friday At 10 p.m.:

The Skirball Bridge will not close tonight, according to an I-405 Sepulveda Pass Improvements Project spokesman.

However, the Skirball Bridge is still scheduled to be closed Friday night, Sept 16, and Saturday morning, Sept. 17, between the hours of 10 p.m to 6 a.m.

This Friday night operation will require a full directional closure of the freeway in each direction on one night, weather permitting.

Only one direction of the I-405 freeway will be closed at one time, beginning with the closure of the southbound direction followed by the closure of the northbound direction.

Ramps within the freeway closure limits may close as early as 7 p.m. and freeway lanes may close as early as 10 p.m., leading up to the full directional freeway closure beginning at midnight.

In other construction related news, the Mulholland Bridge will not undergo nightly full bridge closures for the time-being to support the current work activities on the Mulholland Bridge.

Work crews will continue to utilize a flagging operation to direct traffic along the bridge.

The public will be notified in the near future of when the Mulholland Bridge is scheduled to undergo full closures during the night time hours to complete the current abutment pile driving work operation.
