The California-Nevada Conference of Operating Engineers today announced its endorsement of Assemblymember Betsy Butler and her re-election to the California State Assembly.
Butler also received the endorsement of the union’s Southern California Locals 12 and 501.
“We are endorsing Betsy Butler for Assembly District 50 as she is a proven supporter on all of our issues,” said William Waggoner, Business Manager of Operating Engineers Local 12. “In this age of term limits, it is imperative that we return someone with Butler’s expertise.”
The California-Nevada Conference of Operating Engineers primarily represents operating engineers, who work as heavy equipment operators, mechanics, and surveyors in the construction industry, and stationary engineers, who work in operations and maintenance in building and industrial complexes, and in the service industries.
The new 50th Assembly District stretches from West Hollywood to Malibu and sweeps south through the Palisades to Santa Monica.
Butler was elected to the California State Assembly in 2010.
