Human Skeletal Remains Found In Malibu Creek State Park:

Human skeletal remains were found in the Tapia Park area of Malibu Creek State Park on Sunday, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.

Sheriff’s homicide detectives and coroner’s investigators have spent much of today at the scene after a hiker found the remains late Sunday afternoon near Las Virgenes Road.

Coroner’s Assistant Chief Ed Winter has confirmed the remains were those of a human, but the gender was not immediately known.

According to ABC7, so far, there’s no indication of a cause of death, and it’s unclear how long the body was there.
