St. Monica Opens New Gym With Thrilling Win: VIDEO: Mariners Beat St. Anthony in Double Overtime

The St. Monica Mariners opened their new gym to a capacity crowd with a game against St. Anthony on Saturday night.

The St. Monica Mariners showed off their new scoreboard, floor, sound system and Wall of Fame on Saturday night.

But then the spectacle truly began. The Mariners and St. Anthony Saints battled through six periods of play before St. Monica finally put a gap between the two teams for a 65-62 win.

St. Monica’s Troy Whiteto II led with a double-double of 22 points and 12 boards while Dennis Ashley contributed 12 points and freshman Ikewun Udweng put up 10 points.

St. Monica will play at St. Bernard on Wednesday.
