Free Compost Workshop This Saturday At Virginia Avenue Park:

Santa Monica’s Resource Recovery and Recycling Division Hosts a free compost workshop this Saturday, March 24, at 9:30 a.m. at Virginia Avenue Park.

Always wanted to compost but never knew exactly how it worked? Or maybe you wish you could compost, but think your home doesn’t have space for it. The Resource Recovery and Recycling Division in partnership with the County of Los Angeles is offering a free composting workshop to answer these questions and more.

Whether you are looking to keep food scraps out of the landfill, learn more about worm composting, find out how to improve your current composting operation or have never heard of composting but are interested, this workshop is for you.

After picking up some great tips at the workshop, you can get started with home composting. Subsidized composting bins are available to residents year-round. Visit us online at www.smgov.net/r3 or call 310.458.2223 for more information.

Virginia Avenue Park is located at 2200 Virginia Ave, Santa Monica.
