The Santa Monica Police Dept. reported a dead body was discovered near Pacific Coast Highway between Palisades Park and Santa Monica State Beach at about 9 a.m. Saturday morning.

According to Sgt. Richard Lewis, “The subject who was found deceased in the 200 block of the bluffs, was identified as Magilla Ringering (a) 36 years old (white male) and a resident of Santa Monica.”

“Investigators believe this is a suicide and the investigation continues. Coroner information is still pending,” Lewis continued.

The deceased was reportedly found along PCH without identification or a note last weekend. Reports also indicate northbound lanes of the PCH were shut down moments after police officers arrived on the scene.

Lewis added “there were a few witnesses to the incident that support a suicide.”

Traffic along the northbound lanes was temporarily halted as SMPD officers and first responders investigated the scene. The body was reportedly found along the eastern edge of PCH below the northern edge of Palisades Park.
