Cinco de Mayo Festival At Virginia Avenue Park On May 6:

Spice up your Sunday! Come to the City of Santa Monica’s Cinco de Mayo Festival on May 6, noon to 5 p.m. at Virginia Avenue Park. A variety of amusements await you! Enter your best salsa recipe in the Homemade Salsa Tasting Contest, play Lotería and win prizes, or participate in the Traditional Fashion Contest, and kids will enjoy playing games, rides and making crafts! This year’s festival will feature live entertainment with the salsa music of Bombachanté, the mariachi band Alta California de Carlos Villalobos, and a Folklórico dance performance by Herencia Mexicana. Master of Ceremonies and performance artist Maria Elena Gaitan brings interesting and humorous commentary on the historical significance of this cultural celebration. Of course, no Cinco de Mayo event would be complete without artisan vendors and traditional Mexican foods and treats.

For the latest entertainment and event updates, visit our park’s website at www.vapark.smgov.net or call (310) 458-8688. Parking is limited so please walk, bike (bike valet available) or take the Big Blue Bus. Virginia Avenue Park is located at 2200 Virginia Avenue. The park is wheelchair accessible and welcomes persons of all abilities.
