“Live From Loews: California Classics” Concert Series. Loews Santa Monica Beach Hotel presents its latest installment of its monthly concert series featuring ocean views, locally-crafted beer, fine wine, and California cuisine. Maudit, an original puppetry performance piece about Modigliani’s gifted yet overshadowed wife, Jeanne Hébuterne, explores the myth of the cursed artist and how simply being female may be an insurmountable fate. Written and directed by Tri-Pi Theatre’s Artistic Director, Leslie K. Emeritus College Student Juried Art Exhibit Part One. The Santa Monica College Emeritus College Art Gallery presents the first of two juried art exhibits featuring selected works by Emeritus College students, through July 12. Last of the Knotts. The semi-autobiographical, solo show written and performed by poet/hipster Doug Knott and produced by Meadowbrook Entertainment, will be staged at Santa Monica Playhouse’s The Other Space Theatre with four performances June 28, July 26, Aug. 30, and Sept. 27 at 8 p.m. Doug endures a childhood of severe abuse by his alcoholic father, a Florida judge obsessed with his own legacy. An Oz-Some Experience for All Ages. Santa Monica Playhouse Musical Matinee Series presents the internationally acclaimed Dorothy’s Adventures In Oz. Bicycle for Education Drive, is currently underway at Whole Foods Market’s Wilshire and 23rd location. The donated bicycles will be shipped to Togo, West Africa and given to young girls to continue secondary education. This drive ends this Sunday, June 24.
