The Santa Monica History Museum (then the Santa Monica Historical Society) was founded during the centennial of the City in 1975.
To show its appreciation to everyone who lives and makes history in the beautiful Santa Monica Bay region, the museum is inviting the community to visit the museum for free.
Among the permanent exhibits is the Santa Monica Time Line that contains artifacts in cases, photos, text and graphics, which trace the origins and inhabitants of Santa Monica from the earliest Native Americans through the 1930s.
