Drunk Westchester Man Knocks Partner’s Teeth Out During Santa Monica Scuffle: Alert Police Blotter: Drinking Games.

A 47-year-old Westchester man was arrested Friday, Oct. 5 in Santa Monica for pushing and shoving his partner that led to her losing two teeth on the 100 block of Santa Monica Boulevard.

At 11:34 p.m. officers of the Santa Monica Police Department received a report of a fight that was occurring between a man and a woman, so they went there to investigate.

When the officers arrived at the scene they detained a couple and began to ask them questions. The officers learned this man and woman had been drinking at a local bar and they were in a relationship.

The woman had indulged in copious amounts of alcohol, and as a result had become very drunk (that’s what tends to happen).

After the woman had become heavily inebriated the man had suggested that they leave the bar and return to their vehicle. Once outside the bar the woman had apparently began yelling and screaming at the man, and this mutated into a pushing and shoving escapade between the man and the woman.

The woman had, as a result of this exchange, suffered facial abrasions and two lost teeth. The officers decided that based upon the statements from both parties that the man had been the primary aggressor, so they arrested him for domestic violence.

The bail for this Westchester resident was set at $50,000.

The woman, despite her injuries, declined the opportunity to be taken to hospital after being treated by the attending paramedics, her judgment possibly impaired by the vast quantity of alcohol she had ingested.

Editor’s Note: These reports are part of a regular police coverage series entitled “Alert Police Blotter” (APB), which injects some minor editorial into certain police activities in Santa Monica. Not all of the Mirror’s coverage of incidents involving police are portrayed in this manner. More serious crimes and police-related activities are regularly reported without editorial in the pages of the Santa Monica Mirror and its website, smmirror.com.
