Celebrate New Year’s Eve 2012 Tonight At Events Across Santa Monica:

It’s New Year’s Eve 2012 — here is a look at some of the events taking place tonight across Santa Monica.

The Great Gatsby New Year’s Eve Ball 2013 will be held from 8 p.m. to 2 a.m. at Wokano, 1413 5th Street. Ring in this New Year 1920’s style at the Westside’s biggest NYE party. The Great Gatsby New Years Eve Ball will include prohibition-style cocktails, whiskey tastings, passed hors d’oeuvres, a live swing band and DJ Frankie spinning Top 40 mashed with 1920’s electro. $40 in advance, $50 week of, $60 VIP. wokcanonewyears2013.eventbrite.com.

The Annual New Year’s Eve Musical Revue at the Santa Monica Playhouse will be held at 6 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. at 1211 4th Street. A scrumptious and sumptuous complimentary buffet supper starts off the evening. Javon Jackson with Les McCann at Typhoon, 3221 Donald Douglas Loop South 2nd Floor. Saxophonist Javon Jackson and his band will be joined by the legendary Les McCann at Typhoon on New Year’s Eve from 9 p.m. to midnight! Known as one of the godfathers of soul jazz, the iconic jazz pianist, vocalist and composer is recognized as a founding force for the genre known as funky jazz established in the mid 1960’s. Viceroy Santa Monica has teamed up with California’s leading National Public Radio, KCRW to throw The Black & White Ball. It promises to be a New Year’s Eve bash to remember, where guests ages 21 plus can dance through the night to the beats of some of Southern California’s favorite radio DJ’s.
