Fire Chief Scott Ferguson and Police Chief Jacqueline Seabrooks will go head-to-head in the “Chief’s Challenge” at SuperBowl-A-Thon17 on Feb. 1

Organizers of the SuperBowl-A-Thon 17 say there are still team lanes available at the special fundraiser this Friday where more than 700 bowlers will come together representing various businesses, social service agencies, and local government.

The event, benefiting the Westside Shelter & Hunger Coalition, takes place at AMF Bay Shore Lanes in Santa Monica from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.

This bowling marathon brings the private and public sectors together with local social service agencies and the faith community to raise funds for programs focused on the eradication of hunger and homelessness on the Westside of Los Angeles.

At this time, sponsorships and team lanes are available, but don’t delay if you want to join the community fun and fundraiser of 2013.

This year’s SuperBowl-A-Thon (SBAT) is presented by Kiwanis Club of Santa Monica with “Perfect Game” sponsor CapitalSource Bank.

The 2013 “Strike” sponsors are: Downtown Santa Monica, The Lobster, Morley Builders, Santa Monica Convention and Visitors Bureau, Santa Monica Police Officers’ Association and Santa Monica Firefighters Association.

The 2013 “Spare” level sponsors are: Coalition of Santa Monica City Employees, Fairmont Miramar Hotel, Harding Larmore Kutcher & Kozal LLP, Hotel Erwin, JW Marriott Le Merigot Santa Monica, Santa Monica Chamber of Commerce, Santa Monica Place, The Haven and Tooley Interests LLC.

Community leaders who will bowl include Assembly member Richard Bloom, Santa Monica Mayor Pam O’Connor, Santa Monica Police Chief Jacqueline Seabrooks, Santa Monica Fire Chief Scott Ferguson, members of Santa Monica City Council and board members of the Santa Monica-Malibu Unified School District—all joining faith, business and nonprofit organizations

“This is a wonderful event for a great cause and we are pleased to have the widespread participation and support of the business community,” said Lynne Thomas (The Lobster) and Ron Davis (CapitalSource Bank), who co-chair a committee of volunteers producing SBAT 17.
