Rejuvenate At Massage Envy On Montana Avenue In Santa Monica:

Stressed out? Sore body? In need of some relaxation?

Montana Avenue is now home to Massage Envy, a self-described “pioneer and national leader” of affordable massage and spa services.

Franchisee Kim White held a grand opening celebration Tuesday at the clinic located at 729 Montana Avenue in Santa Monica (the soft opening was Nov. 16, 2012).

Nearly a decade ago, White said Massage Envy was launched to create a completely new category in the wellness industry.

“Our intention was to promote a healthy lifestyle through affordable massage and spa services,” White said. “As it turned out, people liked this idea.”

In addition to professional massage services at affordable prices, White said another key component to their growth has been constant communication with their clients.

“It’s for this reason that in 2009 we opened our first Massage Envy Spa, which featured Healthy Skin facials using Murad skin products and additional spa services,” she said. “We just launched our latest offering, sugar foot scrub therapy.”

Today, there are more than 800 Massage Envy and Massage Envy Spa locations in the United States.

Prior to franchising with Massage Envy, White and her business partner had professional backgrounds including real estate to sales and marketing.

They met in college and both lived in the South Bay after graduation.

“My business partner moved away, but came back for a visit a few years ago,” White said. “She mentioned that she wanted to get a massage to relieve stress in her back and told me about her experience with Massage Envy. That started our discussions about how the concept would be such a great addition to the local beach communities and their commitment to health and wellness. We opened our first Massage Envy Spa in Manhattan Beach, next door to Murad’s headquarters. In fact, our Manhattan Beach location was the launch site for the initial facials offered by Massage Envy Spa and are now offered at all of our locations.”

White said Massage Envy’s unique membership program affords their clients the opportunity to incorporate therapeutic massage and skin care as part of their ongoing wellness routine at affordable membership rates.

She said she was thrilled at the location they had found in Santa Monica.

“When we had the opportunity to lease the former Wachovia Bank space at the Piazza Montana Building on Montana Avenue, we jumped at it,” she said. “We are so thrilled and proud to be part of the active and vibrant community that embraces such a healthy lifestyle. We feel very proud to be a part of the exclusive Montana business community.”

Massage Envy is located on the northwest corner of Lincoln and Montana Avenue.

It is open seven days a week from 8 am to 10 pm.
