Christopher Grimes Gallery Opening Reception

— Friday, July 5 from 6-8 pm

— 916 Colorado Avenue, Santa Monica

Christopher Grimes Gallery will host an opening reception tonight for its new exhibitions featuring the artworks of Joshua Podoll and Carlos Bunga.

The exhibition will be on view today through September 7.

Podoll’s new body of paintings places more emphasis on drawing, creating densely layered spaces upon which austere objects float and create tension between themselves and the built-up layers of gestural marks.

In the South Gallery, Bunga will present a series of paintings made as part of a dialogue with his recent site-specific installation in the gallery.

The paintings act as a more permanent reference to the structure that was by nature ephemeral.
