Bail was not granted to a 45-year-old Santa Monica man on Thursday, Aug. 15 after he was found in violation of probation for possessing brass knuckles.
At 7:45 am officers of the Santa Monica Police Department were called out to the 2100 block of Delaware Avenue in order to assist with a probation compliance check.
They were informed that there were four individuals present at the location at the time. The officers arrived at the scene and requested that all of these individuals leave the residence and wait outside while the officers checked the interior of the residence for the possible probation offender.
One of these men, who claimed “dominion” over the residence and had been in sole control of the living room area, was found to be in violation of his probation because the officers discovered a pair of brass knuckles (brass knuckles, also sometimes called knuckles, knucks, brass knucks, or knuckledusters, are weapons used in hand-to-hand combat. Brass knuckles are pieces of metal shaped to fit around the knuckles. Despite their name, they are usually made of steel), as well as other unspecified items that were all in violation of the terms of his probation.
This 45-year-old resident of Santa Monica was arrested and charged with possession of metal knuckles and violation of probation.
