Santa Monica Man, 38, Charged With Stalking After Harassing His Ex-Girlfriend:

A 38-year-old Santa Monica man was arrested and charged with stalking after harassing his ex-girlfriend on Wednesday, Sept. 25.

Officers of the Santa Monica Police Department received a report of “threats” being made at 11:09 am in the 1500 block of Fifth Street.

The officers responded to the scene to discover that the parties involved were a man and a woman who had been involved in a dating relationship that had apparently turned sour.

The officers spoke with the woman and learned that since the break-up of the relationship the male half had made a habit of stalking the female half by repeatedly calling her on the phone, and turning up at her residence unannounced.

On this particular visit the ex-boyfriend had allegedly informed the ex-girlfriend that his intention was to terminate the life of her son.

Upon arrival at the scene the officers had apprehended the ex-boyfriend as he was in the process of walking to his car with the evident intention of departing the scene.

The officers took statements from witnesses at the scene and subsequently arrested this man for stalking.

Bail amount was not available at time of going to press.
