Santa Monica Police Department To Conduct DUI Checkpoint Friday, Dec. 20:

The Santa Monica Police Department has announced the date for its next DUI/Driver’s License Checkpoint: Friday Dec. 20 at an undisclosed location within the city limits. 

According to the SMPD, over the course of the past year, traffic collisions involving impaired drivers/riders were involved in 89 collisions; which have injured 35 people.

Friday’s checkpoint is part of an ongoing campaign to reduce the number of persons killed and injured in alcohol involved crashes.

Funding for this operation is provided by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
