Casa Del Mar Debuts New Comedic Magic Show This Sunday:

Enjoy magic and need a few extra laughs in your life?

Consider checking out a new comedic magic show called “Insomnia” that debuts this Sunday at Hotel Casa del Mar located on Santa Monica’s beachfront.

Held in a private room of the hotel, “modern conjurer” Derek Hughes takes the audience on a unique journey to explore the line between waking and dreaming

This never-before-seen show will be held in the intimate setting of one of the hotel’s private spaces. The evening opens with a wine and beer reception at 5:30 pm, followed by the hour-long performance at 6 pm (no late seating will be accommodated).

Each show is limited to 50 guests, offering an intimate and up close experience where audience participation is welcomed.

“The show is loosely inspired by the short fiction of Jorge Luis Borges,” Hughes said. “It blends humor, magic, and audience participation. I titled the performance ‘Insomnia’ because when you leave, you will be too mystified to sleep, and too amused to care.”

General admission tickets are $55 per person and can be purchased via Eventbrite. Admission includes two beverages (beer and wine only) during the reception and valet parking at the hotel.

Due to adult content and language, the show is recommended for mature audiences only.

The performance dates are:

• Sunday, Jan. 26

• Thursday, Feb. 20

• Sunday, Feb. 23

• Sunday, March 2

• Sunday, March 16

• Sunday, April 6

• Sunday, April 27

Hotel Casa del Mar is located at 1910 Ocean Way, Santa Monica.
