Bobby Shriver County Supervisor Campaign Raises $550K… So Far:

Bobby Shriver’s campaign for LA County Supervisor has released its first campaign fundraising report showing nearly 2,000 donors in 10 weeks.

Shriver said his campaign had collected money from 1,993 donors at nearly $300 per person.

“These donors include people with whom I’ve worked over the years in business and the non-profit world,” Shriver said. “Many of our donors are friends and some are family. I’m inspired and grateful to each of them for their support. This represents a real building of momentum around our campaign.”

The total funds raised from these individual donors is $547,736 with an average donation of $274.83.

The campaign said cash on hand is $639,712.62. In addition, Shriver contributed $300,005 of personal money to the campaign.

Shriver’s campaign strategist Bill Carrick said these donors reflect Shriver’s work in so many different fields.

“In my years of campaign experience, I have never seen such an outpouring of support so quickly in a campaign,” Shriver said.

Shriver is running for the Third District, which is currently held by soon to be termed out Zev Yaroslavsky. The district includes Santa Monica as well as Beverly Hills, Calabasas, Hidden Hills, San Fernando, West Hollywood, Westlake Village, and a handful of unincorporated areas such as Agoura and Universal City.
