First-round Grammy ballots are in the mail Thursday. The awards process for the 57th annual Grammy Awards started yesterday, when ballots went out to about 12,000 voting members.
The Recording Academy has validated 17,144 entries — received from1,770 Academy members and 417 record labels and other media companies.
Nominations will be announced the first week in December.
Final ballots go out Dec. 17, and the awards are set for Feb. 8. at Staples Center.
