Man Pleads No Contest To Malibu DUI Crash Involving Jennifer Lopez’s Rolls-Royce:

Latest Malibu news.

A Las Vegas man who crashed a pickup truck into singer Jennifer Lopez’s Rolls-Royce in Malibu last September pleaded no contest Wednesday to a misdemeanor DUI charge.

Superior Court Judge Paul Bacigalupo immediately sentenced Robert John Reitz, 54, to three years of probation and ordered him to enter an alcohol rehabilitation program.

Reitz is also enrolled in a separate alcohol program administered by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, according to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office.

Reitz had a blood-alcohol content of 0.17 percent — well above the legal limit of .08 percent — three hours after the crash, which occurred on Pacific Coast Highway just before 8 p.m. Sept. 27.

Actress Leah Remini was driving Lopez’s car, which was stopped at a light near the former Nobu restaurant when it was rear-ended, according to a post on the singer’s Instagram account. Lopez’s two children were also in the Rolls-Royce. No one was hurt, the singer assured her fans.

“Sitting at a light, Riding high right before some drunk fool rear ended us in my new whip!!!”, Lopez posted. “Thank god everyone ok!!!”
