Last Chance To Buy Tickets To Santa Monica Red Cross ‘Red Tie Affair’ This Saturday:

The Santa Monica Red Cross is hosting the 9th Annual Red Tie Affair this Saturday at Le Meridian Delfina Hotel, 530 Pico Blvd.

The event is one of the Los Angeles region’s major fundraising events to support disaster relief.

This year’s “Surviving in Style” theme engages guests in response efforts, while preparing them for disaster — with a playful yet respectful spin — by offering unique auction items inspired by celebrity donated surviving in style emergency kits. Proceeds will benefit Red Cross local and international disaster relief.

As recent events in Nepal have shown, disaster can strike anywhere at any time. The mission of the Red Cross is to be there, alleviating human suffering wherever it occurs and we are able to do so thanks to the generosity of our donors and the power of our volunteers.

In order to support disaster relief, the American Red Cross of Santa Monica is hosting 9th Annual Red Tie Affair on May 9th at Santa Monica’s Le Meridian Delfina, which aims to create an environment that recognizes the serious business of preparedness and contributes to the survival needs of those impacted, while giving a fun spin to the evening.

This year’s Surviving in Style theme takes into account that while most emergency kit items are critical to surviving a disaster, certain comfort items can help individuals feel like themselves, even as life is irrevocably altered. That’s why celebrity supporters were asked to help by answering one question: what special items would you include in your emergency kit to survive in style? Their answers have inspired our fun live auction celebrity survival packages.

Red Cross supporting guests will also enjoy enticing food stations from local Santa Monica area restaurants, as well as creating survival kits at a Build-A-Kit station, and a unique and interactive Muddle-Your-Own-Mojito Bar, hosted by Patron.

The menu will highlight local Santa Monica chefs, featuring AN’s famous “Secret Kitchen” Garlic Noodles and Helene’s Beef Taco, with Teriyaki Beef, Wasabi and Enoki Mushroom, as well as Patron’s infused desserts.

The best part is that all of the evening’s proceeds directly support the Red Cross Disaster Relief efforts in Nepal, and those disasters we face right here at home every day. To buy tickets for this year’s Red Tie Affair, visit http://www.redcross.org/ca/los-angeles/red-tie-affair.
