Walk With Love 5K Walk/Run Taking Place In Pacific Palisades Today:

Walk with Love, Dr. Susan Love Research Foundation’s parent-pleasing, kid-friendly, doggie-delighting annual 5K Walk/Run, will take place this morning, May 17 in Pacific Palisades.

During Walk with Love, which raises critical funding for innovative research into the cause and prevention of breast cancer, participants walk through lovely neighborhoods with scenic views, and partake in a family fun festival complete with food trucks, a bounce house, kids’ activities, live entertainment, and special pampering for the pups.

Chief Visionary Officer Dr. Susan Love has made it her life’s work to find the cause of and prevent breast cancer.

“We have achieved breast cancer awareness and there are many effective treatments available for those who are diagnosed. But cancer isn’t a walk in the park,” says Dr. Love, who was diagnosed with leukemia in 2012 and underwent chemotherapy and a bone marrow transplant. “Though survivors may be grateful to be alive, the cost of the cure is high. Dr. Susan Love Research Foundation is in this to find the cause of breast cancer and ways to prevent it.”

This year, Walk with Love will have special amenities for dogs and their humans, including doggy gift bags, a grooming station and “paw-di-cures.” Los Angeles dog rescue organization Dawg Squad will be onsite with pups for adoption.

Dogs have always been welcome at Walk with Love. Joining Walk with Love for the fourth consecutive year, Linda Wilkes, her dog Holiday, and Holiday’s buddy, Max, participate with their team, Paws with Love.

“Throughout the years I’ve turned to Dr. Love’s wisdom and advice around women’s health. When I was diagnosed with breast cancer five years ago, the search for information and guidance became even more personal and urgent,” Linda Wilkes said. “I needed to know what my options were and what was going to happen along the way. I had a wonderful team of doctors involved in my care and I had Dr. Susan Love’s Breast Book on my nightstand.”

Walk with Love 2015 registration will be available onsite.

To register, join a team, or sponsor a participant for Walk with Love 2015, visit Walk.DrSusanLoveResearch.org. Registration starts at $45 for adults, $35 for youths aged 5-16, and children 4 and under are free.
