A 29-year-old homeless woman was arrested on Thursday, Oct. 8, after refusing to pull up her pants while sitting at a Main Street bench.
At 3 pm officers of the Santa Monica Police Department were on routine patrol in the area of the 1800 block of Main St. when they were flagged down by a citizen who was complaining of a naked woman at a nearby park bench.
The officers were directed to the suspect and upon arrival they spotted the woman lying on the bench with her pants down to her knees.
The officers asked the woman several times to correct her attire in order to achieve an acceptable level of public decency but the woman refused, and instead attempted to pull her shirt down as far as she could in the hope that the shirt would meet the jeans at the knees.
This was not satisfactory so the officers arrested this woman and she was charged with public indecency. Bail was set at $10,000.
