Suspect In Custody Following Deadly Shooting In Mar Vista Area:

A man was shot to death on Saturday in the Mar Vista area of Los Angeles and a suspect was taken into custody, police said.

The shooting was reported at 10:47 a.m. in the 6300 block of Purdue Avenue, police said.

Arriving officers found the man suffering from a gunshot wound. Firefighters pronounced him dead at the scene.

Officers took a suspect into custody and while the investigation is still ongoing, police said the shooting may have been the result of a dispute.

A total of 10 bicycle racks stand on the north side of Metro’s new Expo Line Downtown Santa Monica station. A further 10 racks have been installed by the City of Santa Monica on the south side. With Metro’s Expo Line opening to Santa Monica today, that means a total 40 cyclists will be able to lock their bikes to a rack, safe and sound at the station before heading east.
