A person who fell or jumped from the Venice pier was rescued by lifeguards Monday afternoon.

Los Angeles Fire Department personnel were dispatched about 3:55 p.m. to the end of the pier. County lifeguards had already pulled the person from the water, according to the LAFD’s Brian Humphrey.

The patient, whose age, gender and condition were not immediately available, was taken to a hospital, Humphrey said.
