In his latest Brock on Your Block, Phil Brock explores the voting rights trial the City of Santa Monica recently lost, speaking to Maria Loya, Oscar de la Torre and plaintiff attorney Kevin Shenkman.
“We have had a system that marginalizes people so now we have an opportunity to create district elections which gives every neighborhood a representative on City Council and that’s a lot better than what we have right now,” de la Torre says.
