Crime Brief: Man Arrested For Throwing Coffee

Santa Monica police have arrested a man for throwing coffee and pushing an employee of a local business.

According to the Santa Monica Police Department (SMPD) Matthew Allen Gitlin, age 50, was arrested on Thursday near the 3000 block of Pico Blvd for assault and battery after throwing coffee and pushing an employee.

Gitlin faces charges related to an assault and battery, and probation violation and an Orange County warrant, Santa Monica police say.

“The person named in this post has been arrested on suspicion of the crime indicated and is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law,” the SMPD noted.
