Advantages To Delta-8 THC

In the world of THC, Delta-9 THC is what you typically hear about or encounter. Tetrahydrocannabinol is a cannabinoid molecule in marijuana (cannabis) that’s long been recognized as the main psychoactive ingredient. This is the substance that causes people who use marijuana to feel high. Clinical studies have focused on Delta-9 THC as well as CBD (or Cannabidiol). CBD is the second most common of the active ingredients of marijuana. While CBD is an essential element of medical marijuana, it is derived directly from the hemp plant, which is a cousin of the marijuana plant. CBD is a component of marijuana (one of hundreds), by itself it does not cause a “high.” There is now a new form of THC referred to as delta-8 joining the market.

What is Delta 8 THC?

You may want to know what is Delta 8 THC. Delta 8 THC is very similar to Delta-9 THC, it is actually derived from it. It is found as an isomer of cannabidiol, or CBD, and Delta 9 tetrahydrocannabinol. Therefore, it can be produced by converting CBD or Delta 9 THC in the appropriate environmental conditions via a chemical reaction. It cannot be naturally found in large quantities in the plant. You must extract it from the plant or synthesize it.

What can it be used for?

Like most Cannabis elements, it can stimulate appetite. People suffering from eating disorders can take this to help them get the urge to eat. A low dose of THC might be a potential therapeutic agent in the treatment of weight disorders with minimal side effects associated with cannabis use. Along with that, it has been proven to help with nausea which would then help with an appetite if you are sickly. Studies have shown it highly effective for people suffering with anxiety, depression and other mental illnesses. It is not only known to help ease your stresses but also aches and pains. Delta-8 THC is an analgesic. Lastly, it has also been shown that delta-8 THC possess some neuroprotective properties. Compared to other THC, it can serve to protect nerve cells against damage, degeneration, or impairment of function with the smallest dosage. You can reap the benefits of this THC by taking it orally or topically.

What are its advantages over Delta-9?

Why would one use Delta-8 over Delta-9? Research shows that Delta-8 THC helps you enjoy the typical benefits and high of ordinary THC but without the unwanted side effects caused by getting too high. It has been proven that side effects such as paranoia and anxiety are not common when this variety is consumed. It is for that reason, it has its advantages specifically for medical purposes and treatment and not for recreational use (those that just want the high). It is known to be more stable and less potent. Those that rely on the cannabinoids for medicinal reasons can still receive help without the drawbacks.

Delta-8 THC provides a lot of help to cancer fighting patients in many different ways. There has been studies that suggest it actually is one of the cannabinoids that possesses cancer-killing abilities. It has been proven to stop and inhibit tumor growth. Not only does it help in the fight of attacking the cancer, it can attack the side effects of cancer and it’s treatment. It is known to alleviate nausea and vomiting which is common in cancer patients caused by the various treatments performed. Specifically, it reduces the symptoms of nausea with minimal side effects for children. When going through something as difficult as cancer, this hurdle for a child could be a game changer. When someone who is sick and going through treatment, feeling nauseous also causes patients to not want to eat and not even have an appetite. Delta-8 THC has been proven to increase food consumption and appetite. Beyond that, it can serve as an analgesic to treat pain and inflammation. If it is able to alleviate any pain then a cancer patient may be able to have some peace in their stressful day.

Beyond that, Delta 8-THC can provide protection from substance abuse. It can be consumed responsibly because the individual can build up resistance against the high and mental effects. This can be an important factor to individuals who suffer from addiction and substance abuse issues. If you are using this form of THC for medical purposes it allows you to remove the high feeling whilst continuing to treat yourself.

As you can see, Delta 8 is becoming more popular in the THC for good reasons. When those who are leaning toward THC for medical purposes then this may be a good option for you.
