800 Degrees Pizzeria Closes Santa Monica Location

Hollywood location remains open and Burbank restaurant planned for winter

By Dolores Quintana

800 Degrees Woodfired Kitchen has closed its popular location in Santa Monica.

The location at 120 Wilshire suddenly closed and not much was known about why this happened. As first reported by Toddrickallen.com, the restaurant’s signage has been removed and the interior of the restaurant has been gutted. It seems to indicate that another business or restaurant may be moving into the space.

We reached out to 800° Woodfired Kitchen for a statement about the sudden closure and their press representative responded with this statement from CEO, Tommy Lee via an emailed statement, “Our team is busy pushing forward with our new growth model that embraces delivering high quality food in a more flexible environment. We want to give our guests what they want, when they want it and where they want it. Unfortunately, yes, that means that our Santa Monica location closed due to that specific location’s limitations to move forward in this new environment. We are excited to bring the first example of our new growth strategy to everyone in southern California with our Burbank flagship opening this winter. More details coming very soon.”

The restaurant’s Hollywood location remains open, located at 1521 N Vine Stree.

Known for its neapolitan-style, customizable pizzas, 800 Degrees has a large following on Instagram where the restaurant everyday posts a photo of the ‘pizza of the day’ which is sold at only $7.99.
