Can Matthew Stafford and the LA Rams make it back to the NFL Playoffs this season after surprising people by reaching the postseason last year?
If they want to do it, they’ll need to start the 2024 NFL season by beating the Detroit Lions, the team that knocked them out of the playoffs last season, and it won’t be easy to do it as the Rams are already an underdog at most online sportsbooks. Those interested in betting at FanDuel for example will find the Lions are favored by 3.5 points over the Rams as of right now.
The LA Rams 2024 schedule doesn’t get much easier from there. They might get a break in Week 2 when they take on the Arizona Cardinals, but by Week 3, the LA Rams schedule will have them playing the San Francisco 49ers in the team’s first home game at SoFi Stadium of the season.
They’ll then take on the upstart Chicago Bears back on the road before returning to California for another tough home matchup against the Oakland Raiders.
Believe it or not, though, this might be the easiest stretch of the season for the team, as the LA Rams schedule ramps up once November starts. They play:
- A Monday Night Football game against the high-scoring Miami Dolphins
- A game against the tough Philadelphia Eagles just a few days before Thanksgiving.
- A run of December games against the New Orleans Saints, Buffalo Bills, San Francisco 49ers, and New York Jets in successive weeks
Stafford and the Rams could be playing Aaron Rodgers and the Jets with an AFC playoff berth on the line.
One of the things that could potentially make this season difficult for the Rams, though, is that they’ll play not one but two games on Thursday nights. They’ll match up against the Minnesota Vikings on Thursday, October 2, and the San Francisco 49ers on Thursday, December 12.
The second Thursday night game, in particular, couldn’t come at a worse time for a team like the Rams with an aging quarterback like Stafford. If he’s even the slightest bit nicked up due to injuries at that time, a midweek game against a team like the 49ers with an incredible defense will not be just what the doctor ordered.
Still, it’s hard not to get excited about the LA Rams NFL schedule in 2024 if you’re a fan of the team. While they do have some difficult games on the horizon, they also get to go up against the Arizona Cardinals and Seattle Seahawks twice, and they have other teams like the New England Patriots on their schedule that they should beat handily barring any major injuries.
Will this schedule ultimately be enough to get the Rams back into the NFL Playoffs at the end of the upcoming season? That remains to be determined. But if you’re a Rams fan, all it should take is a Week 1 win over the Detroit Lions to get your hopes up.
