The Showcase Will Feature Acting Classes Performing Scenes Ranging From Silly to Serious to Thought-Provoking
Santa Monica College’s Emeritus Acting Troupe will present its Summer 2024 Showcase, titled “Conversations: Scenes from Film and Theater,” as a live virtual event at 1 p.m. on Saturday, July 13. The event, which is free to the public, can be accessed via a Zoom link available on the July 13 event listing at smc.edu/events.
The showcase will feature students from SMC’s Emeritus acting classes performing a variety of scenes ranging from silly and quirky to serious and thought-provoking.
“Prepare to be captivated and thoroughly entertained as ‘Conversations: Scenes from Film and Theater’ showcases the extraordinary talent and creativity of the Emeritus Acting Troupe,” said Guadalupe Salgado, interim associate dean of SMC Emeritus. “This is a wonderful opportunity to witness the passion and dedication of our students as they bring their artistic voices to life on a digital stage.”
Santa Monica College’s Emeritus program, established in 1975 to cater to the lifelong learning interests of older adults, offers more than 120 noncredit adult education classes and special programs, serving over 3,000 students annually.
